ROOMZ, or how to (re)claim your workspace

Many companies have to manage the occupancy of collaborative spaces, whether conference rooms or “Open Space” offices. Setting up solutions to plan the use of workspaces is becoming a real challenge, especially in these times of (re)lockdown and social distancing linked to the pandemic situation. We are going to discover how ROOMZ can provide some welcome help.

Occupied… or not!

We will start by presenting the solution I had the opportunity to receive, namely the display solution:

ROOMZ offers a Discovery Box, in which we receive a presence sensor and the display panel, based on e-Ink technology. This approach is particularly interesting, because it provides a clear display and uses very little of the battery, which can power the device for 2 years. The booking screen comes with a mounting system that allows easy installation on all types of surfaces. Here is a video I made, covering the unboxing and setup, and a discussion with the support technician, who kindly agreed to take part in this article:

To understand a little more about the principle of use and how it works, here is the introduction video:

The use of this product is obvious, as it is clear that this kind of issue is becoming recurrent, even more so when we have to occupy professional spaces. The sensor supplied with the Discovery Box will also allow shared desks to be managed. Simply attach it under a table or in a corner of the office. Another video, with a broader explanation:

As you can see, it is very effective in use and makes it easy to manage the occupancy of rooms or offices, with effective control. What also stands out is the green IT side, with a solution that does not consume much energy, works efficiently and is interoperable with practically all the scheduling solutions on the market. For more videos, ROOMZ has made a Youtube channel available here.

Here are the official flyers for the 2 products in the Discovery Kit:

ROOMZ also innovates with space management that respects the guidelines on distancing and on cleaning workspaces, thanks to a Smart Desk Booking administration environment. This provides an overview of the spaces while respecting the social distancing imposed by health measures, and makes it possible to monitor the occupancy of professional environments. The same applies to classroom occupancy in educational settings, such as training centres or schools. You can immediately see which classrooms are occupied and which courses are taking place in them. ROOMZ also offers a specific version for schools and educational settings, with a special display.

In short, consider it booked!

The ROOMZ principle is simply brilliant: no wiring, easy to use, it can adapt to organisations of all sizes and remains very affordable. The design is sober and elegant and it can easily be placed anywhere. In addition, ROOMZ support is very responsive and efficient. Thanks to their help, it took less than 10 minutes to configure the device and connect it to my Microsoft 365 system. Managing rooms and offices has never been so simple. A little Swiss marvel that deserves to be widely known in all types of companies. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Fabien Moine, who kindly gave us his time to explain ROOMZ and the company’s strategy. To sum up the ROOMZ approach as a whole:

For those who would like more information, you can contact me via the form, so that I can answer your questions or expectations regarding ROOMZ. As mentioned, I had the opportunity to test the product and can give more comprehensive feedback if desired.
