Security systems: the Fingerprint Card
· Michel Aguilera

Having already written articles in the past on FEITIAN products, today we are going to talk about one of the solutions offered by this company, in a format that has been brought back up to date, namely the FINGERPRINT CARD. A review of this product, which brings a change to how security cards are secured in use, and of the other possibilities of this format.
Right at my fingertips!
The principle of security cards has existed for a long time but has often been associated with the use of a PIN Code for verification against a magnetic stripe. The use of a security chip brought a little more security for a (brief) period. Today, NFC readers can even read our cards without us being aware of it. Being able to add extra security with a fingerprint makes everyday use completely secure and can protect transactions.
Here is the introduction video on the FINGERPRINT CARD:
Of course, you need a suitable reader to read the card’s chip. The advantage is that, as the format is universal, several readers can be used, not only to interact with other equipment (such as access to a PC) but also to open up a whole range of possibilities in terms of interactions. Here is a short video of the test I carried out:
There are several versions of FEITIAN security cards. Here, as an example, is the internal diagram of the card used:

New versions are going to be marketed, such as this variant, described in the article on the FEITIAN website:

The combinations of uses are very varied and will bring several applications in the future. This is conceivable in the field of digital identity management, but also for carrying a multifunction card on you, to gain secure access to protected places, make payments in multi-account mode and guarantee that encryption is carried out on an inviolable biometric basis. It will be possible to integrate this with application environments compatible with FIDO or other authentication methods.
In short, it’s secure!
As mentioned earlier in our article, you need a special reader in order to register the card and the application or identity profiles that will be used and linked to the FEITIAN card. The use of this kind of digital medium will very soon become widespread everywhere (in companies as well as for individuals), and some banks are considering this means not only to protect their customers in the long term but also to guarantee completely secure transactions and guarantee the identity of applicants. Whether for withdrawals or any other transaction requiring biometric validation. Something useful for everyone, and worth following closely.
